ABOUT ME
Hi, my name is Dr. Kam
My name is Dr. Kameelah Mu'Min Oseguera, you can call me Dr. Kam! I was born and raised in Brownsville, Brooklyn, a community rich in culture, and history - and also one that bore the weight of systemic challenges. In my neighborhood I learned early on that stories matter—not just the ones told about us, but the ones we tell ourselves.

As a psychologist and professor, participant advocate, and ethical storytelling consultant, I have witnessed the emotional depth and complexity that comes with telling real stories—whether behind the camera or in front of it. I have seen the ways storytelling can be empowering and life-affirming, but also how it can leave individuals feeling exposed, vulnerable, or unseen if not handled with care.

This deep understanding is what led me to create Marwa Consulting, LLC—a space where compassion, wisdom, and integrity are not just words, but guiding principles. I wanted to create a space where healing-centered, trauma-informed practices could guide ethical storytelling and collaborative work. Marwa Consulting is my way of honoring the strength it takes to share and create stories, while building processes that reflect courage, authenticity, respect and empowerment every step of the way.
Whether you're a filmmaker, participant, or part of a creative team, let’s work together to tell powerful stories with care!

Dr. Kam, what resonated with me is your genuine push for filmmakers/storytellers to begin self work before diving into a creative process. The energy of your masterclass is also why I found it to be incredibly dynamic... I was left with such a calm, warm and healing feeling afterwards. Your approach and the ways in which you convey challenging information is a gift and a blessing.
